Rafting trips near: Denver
Denver is widely known as the "Mile High City", sitting on the high plains at 5,280 feet. Denver is a bustling, vibrant metropolitan area of about 2.5 million people. Founded in 1858, at the height of the Pikes Peak Gold Rush, as the hub of the western Kansas Territory. Denver was actually named after a Kansas govenor, not John Denver, sorry. To this day, Denver is a regional hub for the Rocky Mountains for commerce, arts, culture, recreation, agriculture and of course, shopping. With 300 days of sunshine a year and it's short drive to the Rocky Mountains, Denver is an outdoor enthusiasts' dream come true. Summer visitors enjoy a revitalized downtown scene, the National League champion Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, amusement parks and unique breweries. Whitewater rafting, kayaking and fly fishing are all within a days drive of Denver. To the north you will find the Wild and Scenic Cache La Poudre River located just west of Ft. Collins. Travelers going west can raft the challenging rapids of Clear Creek above the town of Golden.
