Rafting trips near: Arches National Park

Arches National Park, just north of Moab, Utah, has the largest concentration of natural arches in the world. Over 2,000 sandstone arches are documented in this 73,000 acre park. The forces of nature, predominately wind, have shaped pinnacles, spires and hoodoos in bizarre shapes. Arches vary from a few feet to the 306 foot Landscape Arch. Easy hikes and driving routes allow the visitor to view several of the sandstone spectacles. While ancestral Puebloans and Fremont cultures passed through and hunted here, no known permanent settlements occurred here. Tourists can visit Arches before embarking on a river rafting trip on the Colorado River or the Green River.
